Lam Ching-Ying is the main villain in this non-stop ride through the jungle, as the crazed Vietnamese general on vendetta for his eye. Lam takes his icy demeanor to so cold it burns in this over-the-top scene stealing performance.

The action starts at the beginning and never lets up in this relentless tale of duty and revenge. Eddie Ko is the unstoppable hero trying to get friends, family, and prisoner to safe territory. Lam Ching-Ying is the venomously evil officer they manage to seriously piss off along the way who dogs their every step with with soldiers, mercenaries, and native warriors. This was a John Woo production from just before he became a household name, and his trademarks can often be seen developing here. -gg-
