Kyonshi On The Loose!
In 1989 Pony Canyon released Phantom Fighter, a rather average game with a very unique background. In Phantom Fighter the player takes the role of an undead fighting Taoist priest who looks like our hero, Lam Ching-Ying, up against a rampaging horde of hopping vampires..
Unfortunately, there are not a lot of functioning NES boxes out there these days, and even fewer Phantom Fighter cartridges surviving. However, all is not lost!
As you may or may not know, there are software Emulators that make your computer pretend it's a different kind of machine. There are perhpas a score or more of different Nintendo Emultors for Windows & DOS, and at least a dozen for the Mac, as well as emulators available for Linux. Likely there are more varieties, too. So one can download the ROM code from the old game cartridge and load it into a virtual Nintendo machine on your computer and play the long lost Lam Ching-Ying based game, Phantom Fighter.
